Why Too Much Salt In Your Diet Can Weaken Your Erections

I’ve been receiving a lot of emails lately from guys asking if enjoying salty foods like chips and pork rinds can put you at risk of erectile dysfunction.

Now while indulging in these snacks from time to time is perfectly alright, it already becomes harmful to your ability to get a stable erection going if you always have them in your regular diet, such as in the case of eating them daily.

This is because very high levels of salt in the body have a significant effect to the process set off by hormones during sexual arousal, which leads to the point where your erections get really weak in the long run.

Let me explain what I mean…

See, the brain basically stimulates the endocrine glands to produce and release certain hormones to cause changes in the body when you and your lover get frisky in bed. And one of these changes is directing more blood to the pelvic region to firm up the erectile tissues in the penis.

Ideally, this goes smoothly during sexual arousal. Chances are you will never even notice that you are already rock hard. However, things can get rather tricky if you’ve got excessive amounts of salt in your body.

This is because having too much salt in the system disrupts normal blood pressure levels, which not only slows down your ability to get an erection, but also leads to more serious lovemaking issues if not taken care of properly in the soonest time.

During my extensive research into the male sexuality a few years back, I’ve discovered that having high blood pressure or hypertension gradually damages the vessel walls that line the erectile tissues of the penis.

The unexpected spikes in blood pressure cause microscopic tears in the vessel walls that can either eventually burst because of the sudden stress they are experiencing or thicken up and obstruct the normal flow of blood.

And no matter which one you’ll go through, you will still be at the losing end the next time things get hot in the bedroom. Just imagine the disappointment it will bring your lover as well when she’s already ready for some action in bed and you just couldn’t rise up to the occasion.

Just to make things clear though, I am not saying that you shouldn’t enjoy your favorite salty foods ever again. I’m just emphasizing that having too much of them can lead to problems during sex, particularly making getting stable erections difficult.

(Now here’s a simple tip to prevent coming too soon during lovemaking.)
